AGM Apps ("we," "our," or "us") operates the PeekScope mobile application for Android (the "App"). PeekScope can show video from a compatible USB Video Class (UVC) camera or a local Wi-Fi camera that offers a JPEG snapshot or MJPEG stream. You can save photos and, with the Recording Unlock, videos. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use those features.
In short, we do not receive your camera feed or captures. The App has no user accounts or AGM Apps camera servers. Wi-Fi mode requests video from the local camera address you enter; advertising, consent, and Google Play services also use the network as described below.
The App does not ask you to type in any personal information. There is no sign-up, no name, no email address. What you create while using the App is:
All of this is stored on your device only, as described in Section 3.
To open a USB camera, the App reads its technical description from the operating system: the camera's name, vendor and product identifiers, the video formats and resolutions it supports, and — where Android exposes it — its serial number and interface layout. This describes the camera hardware, not you. It is used to set up the video stream and is shown on the in-app Debug screen so you can troubleshoot a camera that will not connect. It is not transmitted anywhere by the App.
In Wi-Fi mode, the App connects only to the local HTTP or HTTPS address you enter or scan. An address without a path makes the App try common JPEG/MJPEG paths on that local camera. A scanned QR code is used only if it contains a usable local stream address; the App does not use a proprietary pairing code or send the QR contents to AGM Apps. The camera or its network operator can see the connection. An HTTP stream is not encrypted on the local network.
We do not collect any personal information automatically, and the App contains no analytics, crash-reporting, or usage-tracking code of ours. However, the third-party advertising and Google Play services integrated into the App collect certain technical information for their own purposes, as described in Section 4.
USB video is decoded on your device. In Wi-Fi mode, video travels from the local camera to your device over the local network and is then displayed by the App. The App does not upload either stream to AGM Apps or an ad provider, and it does not analyze the picture. Video is saved only when you tap Record. Freeze holds a frame on screen until you resume.
Your preferences, last Wi-Fi camera address, and HD Day timer are stored in Android's Jetpack DataStore in the App's private storage. The Debug screen keeps a short, in-memory log of app events (camera connected, format chosen, ad loaded, errors) together with the USB camera description from Section 2.2 and your device model and OS version. That log lives only in the App's memory while it runs, is cleared when the App closes, and is copied to your clipboard only when you tap the Copy button — nothing on that screen is sent to AGM Apps by the App.
The App allows Android's automatic app backup. If backup is on, your preferences, last Wi-Fi camera address, and HD Day timer may be backed up to your Google account and restored on another device. Photos and videos are not part of that app backup; they live in shared media folders and are handled by any photo backup service you choose, under that service's own policy.
The App uses Unity LevelPlay to mediate advertising among ironSource Exchange, Unity Ads, Liftoff Monetize (Vungle), and Google AdMob partner bidding. Separate Google AdMob ad units act as a direct fallback if mediation cannot serve an ad. The provider that serves a banner or rewarded ad depends on availability, region, consent choices, and our configuration. Advertising providers may collect and process:
PeekScope does not give an advertising provider your name, email address, Google account, payment details, camera feed, or captures. AGM Apps does not assign or pass a custom advertising user ID. Google handles the Recording Unlock transaction as explained in Section 4.4.
Advertising providers do not receive your camera picture, photos, or videos. The ad components have no access to the video stream or your media.
You can review available consent choices in the App under Settings → Ad privacy choices and use your Android advertising settings to limit personalization. Where supported, Android's Privacy Sandbox controls are under Settings → Google → Ads → Privacy Sandbox.
Provider information: Google, Unity and ironSource, and Liftoff / Vungle.
In USB mode, free viewing uses a camera mode up to 640×480 when available, with banner ads. If you choose to watch a rewarded video ad to the end, the App unlocks the USB camera's higher-resolution modes and turns banners off for the next 24 hours (the "HD Day"). Wi-Fi mode shows the resolution supplied by the camera. The serving provider reports whether the reward was earned; the App then writes a timestamp to your device. No record of the HD Day is sent to AGM Apps. The ad provider records the ad event under its own policy.
The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to determine whether an advertising-consent form is required and to collect the choices that form offers. Where required, you can reopen those choices under Settings → Ad privacy choices. The consent service may contact Google to determine which message applies, but the advertising SDKs are not initialized until the consent flow finishes and UMP indicates that ads may be requested.
Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily remove ads; it limits how they are selected and measured. You can also delete or reset your advertising ID in Android's system settings.
The one-time Recording Unlock (Section 6) is sold and processed entirely by Google through Google Play Billing. Google handles payment, receipts, and refunds. The App asks Google whether your Google account owns the unlock and receives a yes-or-no answer; we never see your payment details, your name, or your Google account. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Each permission the App holds exists for one visible reason:
The App keeps the screen awake while a camera is streaming so the picture does not go dark mid-inspection.
Photos and live viewing in USB and Wi-Fi modes are free. Recording video in either mode is a single one-time purchase called Recording Unlock (US $4.99 or local equivalent). It is not a subscription and does not renew. When you buy it:
Start with the shape of the risk: because the App has no user accounts and your pictures, videos, and settings never reach us, a breach of our systems could not expose your data. There is nothing there to take.
If we nonetheless become aware of a security incident affecting personal information under our control, we will investigate immediately and:
We want to be straight with you about one limitation: we hold no email address or other contact details for you, so we cannot send you a personal message. Publication in the App and on our website is how you would be told. We would rather state that honestly than promise a notification we have no way to deliver.
The App is an inspection tool intended for adults — mechanics, plumbers, electricians, home owners, hobbyists — and is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
The App is available worldwide. Your captures and settings are stored on your device in your own country. The consent, advertising, and Google Play providers named in Section 4 may process technical data on servers in other countries, including the United States, according to their own policies.
AGM Apps, a software developer established in the State of Florida, United States, is the controller of the limited personal data described in this Policy. Contact details are in Section 15. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to under Article 37 GDPR.
Where the App stores data only on your device — your photos, videos, and preferences — you control that data and we are neither its controller nor its processor. We have no technical means of reaching it.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the GDPR requires us to tell you the lawful basis for each thing we do:
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Show the camera picture, save captures you request, and remember your preferences on your device | Performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Sell and verify the Recording Unlock through Google | Performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Unlock the HD Day after you choose to watch a rewarded ad | Performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b), at your request |
| Non-personalised advertising that keeps a free app viable | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f): funding the App. You may object at any time (Section 11), and the HD Day removes banners |
| Personalised advertising, where it occurs | Your consent — Art. 6(1)(a), collected through the UMP consent flow and withdrawable through available Ad privacy choices in Settings |
Nothing you provide is a statutory or contractual requirement. There is no automated decision-making producing legal or similarly significant effects, and no profiling of you.
Where a provider handles data outside your region, its own terms describe the transfer mechanism it relies on, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. This applies to the consent, advertising, and Google Play providers named in Section 4. We have no servers of our own, so we do not transfer your camera feed or captures anywhere ourselves.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Because we hold nothing that identifies you, the practical way to exercise most of these is on your own device (Section 11); for anything else, email us (Section 15). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
You have full control over your data:
This section applies if you live in a U.S. state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law — including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, and Rhode Island, plus any other state whose law is in effect when you read this. Where a right below exists only under your state's law, we honor it for residents of that state.
Using the categories named in the California Consumer Privacy Act:
We never receive your photos, videos, or the live camera picture. We collect no Social Security numbers, no financial account or card numbers, no precise location, no biometrics, no health data, no contacts, no messages, and no audio.
We do not collect sensitive personal information and never use personal information to infer characteristics about you. What your camera is pointed at is your business: whether it is a drain, an engine bay, or anything else, the picture never leaves your device.
We have never sold personal information for money and do not do so. Advertising providers may receive identifiers, an IP address, and ad interactions and may use them for advertising purposes subject to your consent and device settings. Under California and some other state laws, that activity can count as "sharing," "targeted advertising," or a "sale" even when no money changes hands.
You can stop it at any time, free:
We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16.
Where these web pages are read in a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or similar signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing for that browser. Android does not send a browser's GPC signal to apps. Inside the App, use available Ad privacy choices and the Android advertising controls described above to express your choices.
Email [email protected] with the request type in the subject line. We operate entirely online and deal with you directly, so email is our designated method. We will acknowledge within 10 business days and answer within 45 days, extendable once by another 45 with notice.
About verification: the App has no user accounts and we hold nothing tied to your name, so in most cases we genuinely cannot connect any record to you as a person. We will say so plainly rather than pretend otherwise, and we will treat a deletion request as an opt-out of sale and sharing. The fastest and most complete remedy is in your own hands: delete your captures and clear the App's storage or uninstall it. That erases everything, immediately.
Authorized agents may act for you with your signed permission or a valid power of attorney. We may contact you to confirm it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, the "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised. Significant changes will be communicated through an App update notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The App may contain links to external websites and app-store pages (such as our developer website, other AGM Apps applications, Google's policies). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites.
